During the month of September volunteers from all across Davidson County came together to complete 26 projects for local non-profits. This community-wide event brings folks together to help non-profits with projects that would otherwise go undone. Thank you to all of the volunteers that made this event possible!
The United Way hosted the Annual Benefactors Reception on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the home of Bill Bates and Beth Bunce. The 2017 Benefactor Honorees were Drs. Sims and Cathy Riggan. The reception is to recognize the honorees as well as all members of the Benefactors Club. The Benefactors Club is made up of over 600 individuals who give $500 or more annually to the United Way of Davidson County.
On Friday, September 8, 2017 Halyard Health hosted their Annual Golf Tournament for the United Way. This event was held at the Lexington Golf Club. There were 25 teams who participated in this event. Thank you to everyone who was able to participate and a special thank you to Halyard Health for another awesome Golf Tournament!
On Thursday, August 31, 2017 the United Way hosted their 1st Annual Campaign Kickoff at the Rittling Conference Center! Over 60 guests were in attendance. They celebrated the amount raised by the Pacesetter Companies and shared Campaign best practices with companies. Sunset Slush was on hand to treat the volunteers and they also enjoyed a magic show put on by Ryan Short Entertainment. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for this awesome event!
The United Way of Davidson County hosted the 2nd Annual United We Bowl on Saturday, August 19th at the J. Smith Young YMCA Bowling Alley.
It was a wonderful day with several teams participating from all across our county. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success!
The United Way of Davidson County held it's 2017 Annual Meeting, on Tuesday, March 21 at the J. Smith Young YMCA Events Center. It was a wonderful event and over 115 United Way business partners, individual donors, and funded agency representatives from across the county.
The Largest Campaign Gift Award went to PPG. PPG’s campaign raised a total of $109,509 for the United Way.
On Friday, March 17, 2017 Lexington Home Brands hosted our United Way Board Retreat. The meeting was facilitated by Karl Yena, the retired director of worldwide organization development and training at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
